The season started with one of the most chaotic races of all-time at the Clipsal 500 Adelaide.
Nick Percat recorded the first win for Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport, after heavy rain and thunder forced a stoppage and turned the race into a strategic gamble, won by the minnows of Supercars.
Later in the season, the two-driver long-distance Pirtek Endurance Cup events delivered three classic races.
Garth Tander and Warren Luff claimed victory at the Sandown 500 (pictured above), despite intermittent rain that caught out a number of leading entries, the front-left guard coming undone on their Commodore and a late charge from Shane van Gisbergen.
The Bathurst 1000 may have started slow but the 2016 version of the Great Race erupted late on with the race-defining tangle between Jamie Whincup, Scott McLaughlin and Tander and turned into a thrilling finish as Will Davison held off van Gisbergen for the win.
Then van Gisbergen and Alexandre Prémat overcame a 10-second penalty to win on the streets of Surfers Paradise, in a marred by controversial collision between Fabian Coulthard and Tander on the front straight.
Where did they rank in the top 10? And which other races feature?
