Mark Winterbottom will have fond memories of the Sydney Olympic Park street circuit. The Western Sydney native won his maiden Supercars title at the event in 2015.
Winterbottom writes about the Sydney Olympic Park street circuit heading into its final event in his exclusive column in V8X Supercar Magazine issue #95.

"It's with mixed emotions that we head to Sydney Olympic Park this season, knowing it will be the final time we race on the street circuit," writes Winterbottom.
"It's a shame it'll be the last event this season, but I feel it's served its purpose and had a positive impact for Supercars over a number of years.
"Street circuits are obviously limited by the pieces of road going through the venue. And when you looked at the facility on paper, there weren't many options to make a really good track. But the camber of the corners and the walls made it into one of the toughest on the schedule.
"To build the track each year let alone getting approval in that precinct was an impressive achievement in itself.
"It was arguably the toughest street circuit on the calendar, so it was a fitting place to decide the championship each season since 2009.
"The circuit will always have special memories for us as the scene of the championship win last season. To win it in my hometown surrounded by friends and family is something I'll never forget."
Winterbottom also gives his thoughts on Sydney Olympic Park's replacement, the Newcastle street circuit, having visited the site in regional New South Wales earlier in the year.
