Garth Tander still can't believe it. He is the 2007 V8 Supercar Championship Series champion. Twenty years of hard work have paid off. He has ticked all the boxes. He has become the best. Now all he needs is time for everything to sink in. Time to realise that he is the 2007 V8 Supercar champion. Time to realise 20 years of hard work has paid off. Pole position at Bathurst - it doesn't get any better than that. Skaife and Tander were the favourites for pole at the most testing race of the year, and yet it went to neither. Instead, it went to someone who just a couple of years ago was dismissed by many as a young man who had failed to fulfil his potential and was destined for mediocrity. But some still believed in him. Ford Racing boss Ross Booth was one, and he made damn sure FPR Sporting Director Tim Edwards knew Frosty was worth a second chance.
