Unprecedented ticket sales will mean that additional grandstands will be shipped in for this year’s Super Cheap Auto 1000 at Mount Panorama in Bathurst on October 6-9.

With three months to go until the pinnacle of the V8 Supercar Championship Series calendar and Australian Motorsport, 80 per cent of grandstand tickets are already sold. Corporate facilities are an even hotter item with 99 per cent of the suites, villas and hospitality areas sold.

“The purpose built pit lane complex has proven the most popular with corporate suites on two levels completely sold out,” said Shane Howard , General Manager of AVESCO Events.

“It has been an overwhelming response. The complex will be completed in time for the event this October which means we will have almost double the amount of corporate facilities compared to last year.

“The prestige of the event and the overall positioning of the series into a strong corporate market means diehard supporters are being joined by a large core of white collar people attending our events.

“This is clearly evidenced across the entire AVESCO events portfolio in 2005 - the Super Cheap Auto 1000, Ferodo Triple Challenge in Launceston and the BigPond Grand Finale at Phillip Island .”

The Super Cheap Auto 1000 and the V8 Supercar Championship Series attracting record numbers of families and with children under 12 admitted free of charge to the event when accompanied by a paying adult, the mountain is becoming a popular haven for families.

“What is also noticeable is that there is a relatively even distribution across all states and an extremely strong presence of New Zealand supporters coming over for the event. This signifies the true nationality of the Super Cheap Auto 1000 as an iconic Australian sporting event,” Mr Howard said.

The camping tradition is also as popular as ever. The 4500 available campsites at the mountain are already 75 per cent sold out. All available campsites are expected to sell out months prior to the event.

General admission tickets are available through Ticketmaster outlets (www.ticketmaster.com.au) or by phoning 1300 136 122. The Super Cheap Auto 1000 will be held at Mount Panorama on October 6-9.
